Epic Games just dropped a trailer showing who’s about to join the island’s spooky party, and it’s a wild mashup: Jason Voorhees, Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. crew, Ghostface, Huggy Wuggy, and even Doja Cat are all coming to play. This year’s event kicks off Thursday, October 9. Players should get ready to see some of the most iconic faces in horror, cartoons, and pop culture hunt, chase, and boogie their way across the map.
Fortnitemares Lineup Brings Big Names and Bold Crossovers
The lineup for Fortnitemares is part nostalgia trip, part fever dream. The trailer reveals several huge arrivals:
- Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred are set to make their Fortnite debut. It’s not entirely clear yet if all five characters will land at once, or if they’ll arrive in stages, but the full Mystery Inc. gang is teased.
- Jason Voorhees slices his way in from Friday the 13th, wielding his signature menace.
- Huggy Wuggy, the blue-limbed terror from Poppy Playtime, is ready to chase players in a very different kind of game.
- Ghostface from Scream, ensuring nobody ever trusts a ringing phone, or a bush, again.
- Doja Cat, serving looks and maybe scares, joins as a curveball pop culture addition.
How these skins will be available is still a mystery. Epic hasn’t confirmed which ones will unlock through Battle Pass progress and which will appear for direct purchase in the Fortnite shop. Given past events, expect a mix of both, and most likely, some surprise bundles along the way. Fortnitemares is never just about costumes.
