Noir Shooter Mouse: P.I. For Hire Pushed from 2025 to Early 2026, Devs Address Delay
October 24, 2025Mouse: P.I. For Hire, the highly anticipated black-and-white shooter draped in vintage Disney flair, won’t be making its planned 2025 debut. In a move that’s sure to rile up fans tracking its every tease, developer Fumi Games and publisher PlaySide Studios confirmed the release is shifting to early 2026.
The announcement landed on X, setting the record straight just days before the Galaxies Gaming Showcase, where many expected a date reveal. Instead, Fumi Games and PlaySide stepped in to preempt disappointment, stating: “Ahead of the reveal, we wanted to let you know that we have made the decision to move the launch of Mouse: P.I. For Hire from 2025 to early 2026.”
Vintage Animation, Modern Hype
Mouse: P.I. For Hire isn’t just another first-person shooter. It’s the debut title from Polish team Fumi Games, but its style has already pulled in eyeballs at major events, including the 2025 Summer Game Fest Opening Showcase and the most recent Xbox Partner Preview. The game looks like someone dropped classic Mickey into a violent, rhythm-charged noir, and let him carry a tommy gun.
Animator fans and shooter diehards have every right to be curious. Scenes in the trailer burst with swinging orchestral jazz and rubber-hose animation, every character bouncing with that feverish old-cartoon energy. The world is drenched in black, white, and attitude, an aesthetic throwback less about nostalgia and more about pure style.
Stars and Style: What Sets Mouse Apart

Leading the gritty cartoon charge is Troy Baker, lending his voice to the ever-determined Detective Peppers, the cigar-chewing hardboiled rodent with a penchant for chaos. Baker’s track record on marquee roles guarantees Peppers will land with plenty of personality, whether he’s quipping through smoke or blazing through waves of ink-stained foes.
Fumi Games is dropping a lot of hints with every preview, leaning on its fresh identity as a Polish studio bringing something offbeat to the crowded shooter space. With support from PlaySide Studios, Mouse: P.I. For Hire is poised to be a standout, even as fans cool their heels for that newly pencilled-in early 2026 release window.
The change in release plans might sting, especially for those primed by showcase buzz. But if Mouse: P.I. For Hire delivers as promised, slick animation, a jazzy score, and a lead mouse with bite, it could end up justifying every extra month in the drawing room.
