Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two roadmap, price drop and buying guide
October 12, 2026SEGA has detailed the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two roadmap, including six Season Pass Two packs, free additions and permanently lower US digital prices.
SEGA has published a buyer-focused outline for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two. The new cycle starts on November 3, 2026, with free gameplay additions and the first paid Season Pass Two pack. SEGA is also permanently reducing the listed US digital price of the Standard Edition to $39.99.
The important distinction is that Year Two is not solely a collection of paid crossovers. The November 3 update adds the new one-versus-one Duel Mode, a Grand Master Plate and 15 gadgets, while free characters are scheduled across the opening months of Year Two. The six paid DLC packs belong to Season Pass Two, and several headline details, including the Final Fantasy VII and Persona racers, remain unannounced. SEGA’s Year Two announcement provides the US prices, launch details and pack schedule.
At a glance: what should you buy?
New players who want the Year Two paid packs: the $59.99 Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition combines the Standard Edition with Season Pass Two. At SEGA’s new US digital prices, buying those two products separately would cost $69.98, making the bundle $9.99 cheaper.
Existing owners: do not buy the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition. SEGA expressly warns current owners against purchasing it because the bundle includes another copy of the Standard Edition. Season Pass Two is the relevant standalone option at $29.99 if you want its paid content.
Players interested only in free additions: the paid pass is not required for the announced Duel Mode, gadget additions or free-character programme.
That advice applies specifically to the US digital prices announced by SEGA, not every regional storefront, currency or physical release. The publisher lists the Standard Edition at $39.99, permanently reduced from $69.99, and the existing Digital Deluxe Edition at $59.99, reduced from $89.99. Season Pass Two costs $29.99, while the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition costs $59.99. SEGA’s announcement confirms that the new bundle contains the Standard Edition and Season Pass Two.
Season Pass Two roadmap and release windows
Season Pass Two contains six paid DLC packs. SEGA’s English-language schedule lists Godzilla for November 3, 2026; Evangelion for January 2027; Virtual Sanrio Puroland for the second quarter of 2027; SEGALAND and the Final Fantasy VII Remake-series Midgar Pack for the third quarter; and the Persona-series Reload Revival Royal Pack for the fourth quarter. SEGA’s roadmap identifies all six packs and their currently announced windows.
There is a regional date caveat for the first pack. The English Steam announcement lists November 3, while SEGA’s Japanese game-site post schedules the Godzilla Pack for November 4 in Japan. Those dates should not be flattened into a single worldwide release date. SEGA’s Japanese announcement provides the November 4 date for that market.
Godzilla Pack: November 3, 2026, in SEGA’s English roadmap; November 4 in Japan.
Evangelion Pack: January 2027.
Virtual Sanrio Puroland Pack: Q2 2027.
SEGALAND Pack: Q3 2027.
Midgar Pack (Working Title), from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series: Q3 2027.
Reload Revival Royal Pack, from the Persona series: Q4 2027.
What SEGA has confirmed—and what remains unnamed
The Virtual Sanrio Puroland Pack is the most specifically detailed of the later packs. It will add Hello Kitty and Kuromi as racers, the Virtual Sanrio Puroland course, and two named machines: the Hello Kitty Apple Kart and Kuromi Charming Cruiser. SEGA’s roadmap names each of those additions.
The Final Fantasy VII crossover is less specific. Its official name is currently Midgar Pack (Working Title). The official Xbox listing commits to one course, two racers, one machine, music tracks, emotes and sounds, but it does not identify the course, racers or machine. Cloud, Sephiroth and every other specific Final Fantasy VII character therefore remain unconfirmed. The official Xbox Season Pass Two listing provides the content counts and Q3 2027 window.
The Persona crossover is at a similar stage. The Reload Revival Royal Pack is scheduled for Q4 2027 and is listed with one course, two racers, two machines, music tracks, emotes and sounds. The listing does not name the racers, course or machines, so no particular Persona character or individual game should yet be treated as confirmed. Xbox’s official listing supplies the current breakdown.
Free Year Two additions are separate from Season Pass Two
The paid pass is only one part of the Year Two plan. Bayonetta will become available as a free character on November 3 and can be unlocked through Rival Duel matches. McLaren Racing is scheduled to follow later in November 2026, while Aigis is planned for early 2027. SEGA’s announcement identifies these as free Year Two additions.
Super Shadow and the Super Dark Flare machine have a separate ownership condition. SEGA labels them as Season Pass One plus Season Pass Two content, meaning players must own both passes. Buying Season Pass Two by itself is not enough to receive that bonus. SEGA’s publisher post states the two-pass requirement.
Should you buy now or wait?
For a new player who already wants Season Pass Two, the $59.99 Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition is cheaper than buying the newly priced Standard Edition and the pass separately. Anyone who wants only the base game can instead use the lower $39.99 US digital price without committing to the paid roadmap.
Existing owners should follow SEGA’s warning and avoid the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition, which would duplicate the Standard Edition. The $29.99 standalone Season Pass Two is the applicable paid option for them.
Waiting is the safer choice for players whose decision depends on particular Final Fantasy VII or Persona characters. SEGA has confirmed the pack formats and release windows, but it has not announced those rosters. The free gameplay changes and free-character releases also mean that participating in Year Two does not, by itself, require buying the pass.
