Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble cancelled: shutdown dates
November 7, 2026Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble has ceased development ahead of its planned global launch.
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble will not receive the global launch PlayStation had planned. The team behind the mobile spin-off has confirmed that development has ceased, saying: “We’ve made the difficult decision to cease development of Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble.” The official shutdown notice sets out the final-update, delisting and server-closure timetable for players in the game’s soft-launch regions.
Existing players can continue playing after the app is removed from storefronts, but only until the servers close on 1 May 2027. Anyone who may need to reinstall the game must do so before it is delisted on 21 November 2026.
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble shutdown timeline
- 6 November 2026: The final planned update began rolling out.
- 21 November 2026: Ranger Rumble will be removed from the App Store and Google Play, preventing new downloads and re-downloads.
- 1 May 2027: The game’s servers will permanently close. Ranger Rumble will no longer be playable after this date.
Those dates come directly from Ranger Rumble’s official shutdown FAQ. The November delisting is therefore not the end of service: eligible existing players can keep playing until the May server closure.
Can you still install or reinstall Ranger Rumble?
Only for a limited time. Players who have already downloaded Ranger Rumble can reinstall it until 21 November 2026. Once the app is delisted, it cannot be downloaded again from either Apple’s App Store or Google Play, according to the official FAQ.
Players who keep the game installed can continue playing until the server shutdown on 1 May 2027. However, after the delisting date, an existing player will no longer be able to recover the app by downloading it again from either storefront.
What happens to purchases, currency and the Super Pass?

In-app purchases have been removed. The Super Pass is now free, while any in-game currency that players have earned or bought can still be spent before service ends on 1 May 2027. The official notice does not promise automatic or developer-issued refunds; it directs players to Apple or Google Play to check whether they qualify under the relevant storefront’s policies.
Remaining currency and unlocked rewards cannot be carried into another PlayStation game. The team says purchases, progress and unlocked items cannot be transferred elsewhere.
What happens to progress and player data?
All Ranger Rumble player data will be deleted from the game’s servers at the end of service. Progress, unlocks and account-linked items will no longer be available after 1 May 2027, and they cannot be moved to another game, as confirmed in the shutdown FAQ.
Players can use their remaining in-game currency until the servers close, but purchases, progression and player data will not survive Ranger Rumble’s shutdown.
Was Ranger Rumble ever released globally?
Ranger Rumble was soft-launched in selected regions, but its planned global release will not now take place. PlayStation said in July 2026 that the game was gearing up for a global launch and that worldwide pre-registration had opened. The free-to-play mobile multiplayer hero shooter was made by Oh BiBi with PlayStation Studios and Insomniac Games. PlayStation’s earlier announcement documents that global-launch plan; the later decision to cease development and delist the app brings it to an end.
The official shutdown notice gives no reason for the decision. It also does not announce a replacement Ratchet & Clank mobile game or another project from the team.
Does the shutdown affect other Ratchet & Clank games?
No. The official FAQ states: “No, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble’s ceasing development has no impact on other Ratchet & Clank games or PlayStation services.” The announcement is limited to this mobile spin-off and should not be read as a wider statement about the franchise or PlayStation’s other services.
