According to Gematsu, the leaked trailer for the demo emerged at 4 pm Pacific / 7 pm Eastern / 12 midnight UK time on February 5, just 24 hours before the expected end of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth showcase. This timing indicates that the announcement may have been a premature revelation on PlayStation’s part. According to reports, the demo is expected to provide players with a glimpse into the initial part of the game’s storyline and the opportunity to navigate the world map. Furthermore, the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth showcase will likely unveil more information, including the possibility of transferring data to the main game when it is released on February 29.

[Spoilers] hint that the demo will start with the Nibelheim episode, which is a flashback chapter. In this chapter, players will have the option to play as either Cloud or Sephiroth. This interactive experience aims to fully engage players in the captivating story of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth right from the beginning. Despite this leak, Square Enix, the developer, has been transparent in sharing details regarding the game. They have hinted at introducing new characters, locations, and gameplay mechanics. Of particular interest to fans is the inclusion of a card game similar to Gwent from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, along with improved fast travel choices.

As excitement continues to build for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the leaked demo serves as a tantalizing glimpse into what awaits players in this highly anticipated sequel. Stay tuned for further updates and details as the release date draws near.
