How to Find Fuban in Black Myth: Wukong

October 10, 2024 Off By Ibraheem Adeola

Finding Fuban, the secret Yaoguai King in Black Myth: Wukong, requires a few steps, patience, and some serious questing skills. Here’s how you can locate this elusive boss, hidden deep within the Kingdom of Sahali.

Where to Begin: Locating the Drunken Boar

The quest to find Fuban starts by meeting the Yellow-Robed Squire (aka the Drunken Boar) in the Fright Cliff Region of Chapter 2. You’ll need to find him in the Rockrest Flat area, lounging around, seemingly lost in his drunken stupor. But don’t be fooled—this guy holds the key to uncovering a secret area that leads to Fuban.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Locate the Drunken Boar: Head to Rockrest Flat in Fright Cliff. Once you reach the shrine, go straight to the back and break the wooden fence protected by a Sparebone enemy. This will lead you to an open field where the Drunken Boar is resting.
  2. Get the Sobering Stone: To progress further, you need to bring the Boar a Sobering Stone. You can either:
    • Purchase it from the Man-in-Stone after completing his quest line.
    • Or find it yourself in the Windrest Hamlet across Windrest Bridge. Once you reach the hamlet, take a left, defeat a Blazebone monster, and find the glowing pot to obtain the Sobering Stone.
  3. Give the Stone to the Boar: Hand over the Sobering Stone to the Drunken Boar, who will then ask for a Jade Lotus. Jade Lotus is commonly found in ponds and water bodies, such as the one at the start of Chapter 2.

Once you’ve given the Boar the Jade Lotus, he will mention a “Realm of Gold” and leave for the Crouching Tiger Temple. Head over to the temple and find the Boar resting near the giant tiger sculptures. After a brief dialogue, he will hint at needing gold to access the secret area.

To get the required Arhat Gold Piece, you must:

  1. Defeat the First Prince of Flowing Sand: The First Prince is a giant rat Yaoguai Chief found in the Valley of Despair, along the road from Sandgate Village. Defeat him to acquire the Arhat Gold Piece.
  2. Return to the Boar: The Drunken Boar will now be back at Rockrest Flat, standing near a locked door. He’ll challenge you to a duel. After defeating him, he’ll grant you access to the large gate with a crawlspace, leading to the Kingdom of Sahali.

Upon entering the secret area, you’ll be transported to the past, facing new challenges in the Kingdom of Sahali. Progress through the kingdom until you encounter the Tiger Vanguard, a formidable opponent guarding the entrance to Fuban’s lair.

The Final Encounter: Finding Fuban

Once you’ve defeated the Tiger Vanguard, the Yellow Rat Sage will request your help in taking down Fuban, a giant scarab Guai causing havoc in the sands below. This is the final step to finding and confronting Fuban, an epic battle that rewards you with valuable items such as:

  • Wind Tamer
  • Sky-Piercing Horn

Be prepared, as this fight won’t be an easy one. But with the right strategy, patience, and a solid understanding of Fuban’s moves, you’ll emerge victorious.
