The Blood of Dawnwalker console modes: 30fps, 40fps, no 60fps announced

August 22, 2026 Off

PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X reported dynamic-4K targets at 30fps or 40fps, but no 60fps launch mode has been announced.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is currently set to offer two graphics-mode targets on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X at launch: Quality Mode at dynamic 4K and 30fps, and Balanced Mode at dynamic 4K and 40fps. Those figures come from reports on Rebel Wolves’ official console-footage video; no 60fps console mode has been announced for launch.

The breakdown gives console players a clearer picture before the game’s scheduled September 3, 2026 release on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not answer every platform question, however: the materials reviewed do not provide resolution, frame-rate or graphics-mode targets for Xbox Series S.

Confirmed PS5 and Xbox Series X graphics-mode targets

  • PS5: Quality Mode targets dynamic 4K at 30fps, while Balanced Mode targets dynamic 4K at 40fps.
  • PS5 Pro: The reported resolution and frame-rate targets remain dynamic 4K at 30fps or 40fps. According to Video Games Chronicle, the official video describes both modes as having “enhanced visual quality” on PS5 Pro.
  • Xbox Series X: Quality Mode targets dynamic 4K at 30fps, while Balanced Mode targets dynamic 4K at 40fps.
  • Xbox Series S: The console is an officially confirmed release platform, but no mode, resolution or frame-rate targets were provided in the reporting reviewed.

VGC reported the PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X specifications after the official console footage appeared. GamingBolt separately reported the same dynamic-4K, 30fps and 40fps targets for those three console versions.

What the PS5 Pro enhancement does and does not confirm

The reported PS5 Pro specifications do not add a higher frame-rate mode. Its stated difference is “enhanced visual quality” across the same Quality and Balanced modes, rather than a 60fps option or a higher announced resolution target. The reviewed material does not identify the settings or rendering features behind that improvement. Claims about changes to ray tracing, image reconstruction or other technical features would therefore be speculative.

Is a 60fps console mode planned?

No 60fps option has been announced for launch in the console-footage material covered by VGC. That establishes what has been disclosed before release, not what might happen afterward. The reviewed sources contain no official commitment either to add a 60fps mode in an update or to rule one out permanently.

What console players still do not know

Beyond the missing Xbox Series S specifications, the available information does not explain whether the 40fps Balanced mode requires a 120Hz display or how it will be presented on a 60Hz screen. The stated figures are targets, and the footage reports do not establish frame pacing or performance stability during demanding gameplay.

For now, the useful buying summary is limited but clear: PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X have reported 30fps and 40fps options at dynamic 4K; PS5 Pro’s advantage is described only as improved visual quality; and Series S owners still need platform-specific details. The console video comes from the official Dawnwalker YouTube presence identified through Rebel Wolves’ press center.
