CD Projekt Drops Big Updates on Witcher, Cyberpunk, and a Mysterious Mobile Game
March 31, 2025The Polish studio behind The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 just unleashed a fresh wave of development updates during their latest financial earnings call, and there’s quite a bit to chew on. Whether you’re waiting patiently for Ciri to slice through your screen in Witcher 4 or wondering what’s next for the neon-drenched chaos of Cyberpunk, CDPR’s got news. Also, plot twist: they’re heading to mobile. Sort of.

Witcher 4 Updates

The long-awaited new chapter in The Witcher saga, currently just called The Witcher 4 (working title), is deep in development. While CDPR hasn’t put a sword in our hands yet or shown any gameplay, they’re clearly sharpening their blades behind the scenes. The game’s dev team continues to grow, and the project is progressing according to schedule.
And yes — it’s officially confirmed that Ciri will take the lead this time around. Geralt, everyone’s favorite grumpy dad figure, will reportedly still be part of the story, though not in the main role. That sound you just heard? A thousand fan-fics rewriting themselves. But wait — it’s not just one Witcher game in the works.
The Witcher Remake & Project Sirius: Same Universe, Different Paths
Remember The Witcher Remake CDPR teased in 2022? Yeah, it’s still in the concept phase. But don’t worry, it hasn’t been tossed into the Swamp of Abandoned Games. Instead, it’s been temporarily integrated with The Witcher 4’s development. This shared tech and asset pipeline should help streamline production — once Geralt’s latest (last?) quest gets further along.
As for Project Sirius, the spinoff title by The Molasses Flood that’s had a few creative restarts? It’s still in pre-production. Interestingly, the studio has now been fully merged with CD Projekt RED. A move that probably means tighter control, clearer direction, and less wandering into the narrative woods.
Cyberpunk Sequel: Project Orion is Charging Up

Look, Cyberpunk 2077 had a messy start, but between the critically acclaimed Phantom Liberty DLC and a Netflix anime that actually slapped, the franchise has found redemption. Now, CD Projekt is officially revving the engine on the sequel, codenamed Project Orion. It’s nearing the end of its concept phase and heading into pre-production soon. Don’t expect Night City 2.0 anytime this year, though. If Witcher 4 is CDPR’s sword, Project Orion is clearly their chrome-drenched, V8-powered long game.
Project Hadar: CDPR’s Mysterious New IP
Meanwhile, in a part of the studio where everyone is sworn to secrecy (and probably wears cloaks), development continues on Project Hadar. It’s CDPR’s first entirely original IP, with no Geralt, no V, and no baggage — just pure potential. So far, they’ve built out the universe’s core pillars and are experimenting with storylines and gameplay mechanics. What genre it is or when it’ll release remains as mysterious as what Gwent cards Geralt hides in his beard.
Scopely Partnership: Witcher or Cyberpunk Goes Mobile?

This one came out of left field. CDPR has entered a strategic partnership with Scopely, the Saudi-backed mobile game developer, which recently acquired Pokémon Go’s developer. The goal? A new mobile game based on one of CD Projekt’s franchises. No further details were given, but it doesn’t take a high-level netrunner to assume we’re looking at a mobile spin-off tied to The Witcher or Cyberpunk. Maybe a Gwent revival? A lo-fi Cyberpunk idle game? Whatever it is, it’s happening — and likely aiming to hit both app stores and wallets.
Netflix Animation and Other Secrets
CD Projekt also confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 universe is expanding again — this time through another animated series in partnership with Netflix. No word yet on the characters or timeline, but if it’s anything like Edgerunners, we’re in for a wild emotional ride followed by a playlist full of synth. And let’s not forget: there are still other mysterious projects cooking in the CDPR oven. One of them from Fool’s Theory (yes, the same crew working on the Witcher Remake), though we don’t know if it’s Witcher-adjacent, Hadar-flavored, or something else entirely.
All in all, CD Projekt has their hands (and studio floors) full — and fans wouldn’t want it any other way. Just remember: whether you’re Team Witcher or Team Cyberpunk, the future is looking shiny, sharp, and just a little bit unpredictable. So yeah — probably best to start clearing your calendar for 2027.
