Fallout Season 2 Drops Early: Amazon Moves Premier Up, Surprises Fans With New Cast
December 17, 2025Amazon has decided to drop the second season premiere of its hit Fallout series a full day earlier than originally planned. If you’re in the UK, that means you can catch the first episode on Prime Video from 2 am on December 17. Stateside, the wasteland opens up even sooner: 9 pm in New York and 6 pm in Los Angeles, all happening “in just a matter of hours.”
The official Fallout account made the announcement with a little cheek: “Well, well, looks like Christmas came early.” That tease landed alongside video from Las Vegas’s Sphere, lighting up to mark the new date. Amazon has also put out a handy infographic with exact release times for fans around the globe.
Weekly Release Schedule and Returning — Plus New — Faces

Season two won’t be a binge-fest. New episodes drop weekly after the initial premiere, running all the way through February 4. That should keep theorists and lore detectives busy through the winter.
The new season brings back familiar faces you’ve come to love, including Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins. But Amazon isn’t just sticking to what worked last time. Macaulay Culkin and Kumail Nanjiani are joining the cast for season two. With these heavy hitters on board, expect new twists and plenty of screen presence to shake up the Vaults.
On the production side, there’s one Vault dweller you won’t be seeing: Bethesda’s own Todd Howard has reportedly turned down several offers to cameo on the show. So, no shifty-eyed Overseer or vault scientist named “Todd” this time around.
What’s Next for Bethesda Adaptations?
The Fallout series isn’t just fueling its own hype; speculation is swirling about what other Bethesda worlds could make the jump to screens. When pressed about future adaptations, particularly an Elder Scrolls series, Todd Howard told Eurogamer that he “can’t rule in or rule out an Elder Scrolls thing in the future.” That’s not a yes, but he’s definitely not closing the Vault door either.
If you’re planning your viewing party, here’s the bottom line: Fallout season two is almost here, earlier than expected, and bringing more stars with it. It’ll be a weekly adventure all the way to February. The Wasteland is about to get crowded again; don’t miss out.
