Fallout Season 3 Scripts Are Underway, with Game Tie-Ins Already on the Table

Fallout Season 3 Scripts Are Underway, with Game Tie-Ins Already on the Table

December 17, 2025 Off By Ibraheem Adeola

Fallout Season 3 is officially being written, according to Todd Howard, and the worlds of the show and the video games are about to get even closer than before. This news drops just a day after the Season 2 premiere, letting fans know that the post-apocalyptic ride isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Howard announced in an interview with Variety, and he didn’t just talk about scripts. He revealed that the Fallout creators are already plotting connections between the upcoming season and future video game content. If you thought the show and games were drifting in parallel, you’re about to see their stories cross in bigger ways.

There’s more than just brainstorming going on. “We’re writing Season 3 now,” Howard said, making it clear that both Bethesda and the TV team are already collaborating. The goal is to blend the universes in a way that “doesn’t feel forced or fake.” Those back-and-forth discussions? They’re happening right now, with specific talk about what to feature in Season 3 and which elements could actually show up in the games themselves.

Fallout isn’t new to this kind of cross-media play. The recent Fallout 76 ‘Burning Springs’ update is a perfect example. Only weeks ago, Bethesda dropped a free expansion starring Walton Goggins (The Ghoul himself) and loaded it with fresh bounty hunter missions. It’s the start of what feels like a much tighter feedback loop between what you’re watching and what you’re playing.

The Fallout TV show is also creating new ways to access both old and new content. Thanks to a partnership between Amazon, Bethesda, and Samsung, anyone with a Samsung TV can stream Fallout 76 and Season One of the show for free via Game Pass. This isn’t just a cross-promotion; it’s a full-on ecosystem-building effort. Kevin Beatty, head of Samsung Gaming, told Variety that he felt “extremely fortunate” to pull this off and hinted that he’s pushing to stream Season 2 in the same way.

The buzz isn’t just about Fallout, either. When pressed, Todd Howard shot down the idea of any Stan Lee-style cameos in the series. But he didn’t close the vault on other Bethesda blockbusters making the jump to TV. An Elder Scrolls TV show? Not impossible. As for a Wolfenstein adaptation, Howard kept his secrets locked tight.

It’s clear that the lines between Fallout’s TV and game worlds are getting even blurrier, and with Season 3 already being written, the crossover potential is massive. Tunnel Snakes rule? Maybe. But if these plans come together, it’s Fallout fans who are getting the royal treatment.
