Hey, Joker mains, listen up! The crazy clown dude, the Joker, is not only showing up in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League free DLC, but he’s also gonna be a playable character! Rocksteady Studios, the awesome peeps behind this super hyped game, just spilled the beans on what’s coming after the game’s release in their third and final developer diary series.

Kill the Justice League Free DLC

The first season of downloadable content (DLC) is coming out in March, and it’s gonna blow your mind! Not only do you get to play as the legendary Joker, but there’s a bunch of other cool stuff too. We’re talking epic boss battles, different types of enemies, and a whole new playing area based on the Joker’s wild universe. And that’s not all! There are also two new episodes packed with exciting things to do, missions to complete, and strongholds to conquer. It’s gonna be a blast!

For fans of Rocksteady’s Arkhamverse games, the inclusion of Joker might raise eyebrows considering the timeline. However, fear not. This Joker is not the same one we bid farewell to in Batman: Arkham Knight. According to Rocksteady studio director Darius Sadeghian, this iteration of the Joker originates from an alternate dimension based on the Elseworld comics. “The original Arkhamverse Joker has been dead for five years, but this is a new Elseworlds twist on the villain,” Sadeghian explained in the developer diary. The narrative takes an intriguing turn as Johnny Armstrong, Rocksteady Associate Design Director, hints that this Joker is “unhinged in a different way” and had been part of the Suicide Squad in his home dimension.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, hitting PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 2, promises an immersive experience with an ever-expanding roster of characters and environments. Stay tuned for more chaos as Rocksteady plans three additional seasons, each bringing a new playable character and exciting additions. The Joker’s return is just the beginning of the madness!
