Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has generated interest from fans, particularly in regards to what will happen to Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas. Douglas has shown a strong desire for his character to have a dramatic departure with impressive special effects.

In a recent appearance on The View, Douglas revealed his desire for a memorable departure, stating, “This actually was my request for the third one. I said I’d like to have a serious [death], with all these great special effects. There’s got to be some fantastic way where I can shrink to an ant size and explode, whatever it is. I want to use all those effects.” Douglas to Entertainment Weekly.

However, even though Douglas hoped for a dramatic end, Hank Pym ultimately made it through the events of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The uncertainty surrounding Pym’s fate in the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings an interesting element to the continuing story. While Douglas hinted at a potential exit, it remains unclear if his character will return in future instalments. The possibility of fulfilling Douglas’s desire for a fantastical demise remains open, offering fans a tempting prospect for future Marvel films.

Meanwhile, the focus shifts to upcoming Marvel projects, notably Deadpool & Wolverine, which promises an exciting adventure involving two iconic characters. Director Shawn Levy teases a unique approach to the beloved Deadpool franchise, promising a fresh take on the superhero genre.

“As far as crafting the Deadpool & Wolverine story, I just felt privileged every day because you’re talking about two massive movie stars in their most iconic roles. It also gave me an opportunity. It’s the third Deadpool movie, but it’s not Deadpool 3,” director Shawn Levy recently said of the movie. “It’s a different thing that’s very much Deadpool & Wolverine. And it’s not trying to copycat anything from the first two movies. They were awesome, but this is a two-hander character adventure.”

Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in theatres this July 26.
