PlayStation Cancels Every Remaining US Show for ‘The Concert’ Tour in Sudden Move

PlayStation Cancels Every Remaining US Show for ‘The Concert’ Tour in Sudden Move

October 7, 2025 Off By Ibraheem Adeola

PlayStation has cancelled all its remaining 2025 US dates for ‘PlayStation: The Concert’, leaving fans across North America blindsided and scrambling for updates. Major cities, including New York, Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia, have all seen their upcoming shows wiped from Ticketmaster, with notifications hitting ticket holders en masse.

The tour, originally pitched as a celebration of 30 years of PlayStation music, promised performances of iconic scores by composers like Gustavo Santaolalla (The Last of Us), Joris De Man (Horizon), Ilan Eshkeri (Ghost of Tsushima), and Bear McCreary (God of War). After a splashy UK launch in venues like London and Glasgow, the series seemed poised to sweep North America. Instead, it’s hit a wall, and organisers aren’t saying why.

Official Confirmation Seals the Deal

The writing was on the wall by early October, when ticket holders started sounding the alarm about abrupt event cancellations from Atlanta to Detroit. Now, the show’s European organisers, GEA Live, have made it official. Every 2025 North American date for PlayStation: The Concert is off. In a statement to VGC, a spokesperson delivered what amounts to a goodbye note:

“It is with great regret that we have cancelled the PlayStation The Concert 2025 tour dates in North America. Our team has spent a considerable amount of time developing this project, and we share in the disappointment of fans who will no longer be able to attend. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the show and appreciate your understanding in making this difficult decision.”

The brusque announcement leaves fans and industry watchers alike with more questions than answers. The cancellations were not accompanied by any public explanation or official word from Sony Interactive Entertainment, despite direct requests for comment.

European Runs Stumble, US Plans Collapse

This is not the first crack in the tour’s armour. The European run also stumbled in recent months, with events reportedly axed in Poland, Sweden, Norway, and Italy. Even some of the German and Budapest shows were kicked down the road to next summer. It appears logistical troubles or flagging ticket sales may have quietly sunk the larger ambition for a global celebration.

By the time the news broke, the list of scrubbed US shows stretched long: New York, Reading, Washington DC, Grand Rapids, Huntsville, Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia were all marked as cancelled on Ticketmaster. Even cities like Red Bank, NJ, the only 2025 date with non-resale tickets still listed, showed “vastly unsold” seats, an ominous signal for its fate. Meanwhile, Detroit’s November 7 event disappeared from normal ticketing channels, even though the tour’s website has yet to catch up.

The blowback reaches beyond the US. PlayStation: The Concert had more than 25 dates lined up for early 2026 in cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Toronto. At the time of publication, these shows were still nominally on sale, but the fate of the whole project now looks shaky at best. While the tour is set to hit the Brasil Game Show this weekend, it’s unclear whether that event, or any outside Europe, will proceed as planned.

The silence from Sony is deafening. With the high-profile names attached and the brand’s 30th anniversary on the line, this collapse feels like more than just a few missed bookings. Fans left holding tickets or making travel plans now wait, hoping for some kind of official word or refund scheme. Until then, the concert’s iconic scores may play on, but not from any US stage in 2025.
