Battlefield 6 Hits Pause on Strikepoint XP as Exploit Floods Squads with Millions
November 4, 2025Battlefield 6 players have pushed Strikepoint into chaos after uncovering an exploit capable of pouring up to 2.5 million XP into a single squad. Facing mounting pressure, Battlefield Studios deployed an emergency tweak to XP payouts, putting the brakes on fast-track progression while the studio chases a permanent fix.
The team flagged the problem over the weekend, calling it an “issue” that directly impacts Strikepoint’s XP rewards. Progression suddenly became anything but fair or consistent as word of the exploit spread like wildfire. In a post on social media, they said:
“We’ve identified an issue that was affecting the amount of XP earned in the Strikepoint mode. To maintain fair and consistent progression, we’ve made some temporary adjustments to XP in this mode while we investigate a longer term solution. Thank you for your understanding and we will update you when further changes are made.”

How the Strikepoint Glitch Hijacked the Meta
The studio hasn’t detailed how the XP loophole works. Still, players pieced together the likely cause: if all four enemy players leave a Strikepoint match, one squad is showered with a ridiculous reward, between one and 2.5 million XP at once.
The exploit didn’t take long to go mainstream. Reports surfaced of squads organizing malicious teams to engineer lopsided matches, gaming the system and threatening to ruin the competitive balance for everyone else. One player captured the mood, writing: “Numerous players are now forming malicious teams to exploit this loophole, severely undermining the experience for fair-play gamers. We urgently request the developers to immediately patch this vulnerability and recover the illicitly gained experience from these individuals to uphold the game’s integrity.”
At the moment, studio officials are holding back on specifics about the future fix or whether there will be account repercussions. The conversation right now is about restoring a “fair and consistent” playing field as quickly as possible.
Season One Brings Big Shifts, and a Shadow Battle Royale

This XP drama lands as Battlefield 6 rolls out its much-hyped Season One update. Hot on the heels of bug fixes and balancing tweaks, the new season arrived with Redsec, a battle royale mode that dropped out of the blue. The player base is massive, over seven million copies sold within the first week, breaking the series’ previous records and drawing an influx of both new fans and would-be exploiters.
Alongside Strikepoint, a new “Casual Breakthrough” mode made its debut. It’s a less intense way to grind challenges and progression. Casual Breakthrough puts you in smaller squads on either the Siege of Cairo or Empire State maps. There are trade-offs: you won’t rack up dogtags, accolades, or career stat boosts, but you do pull in full XP for real player actions, with reduced XP for any moves involving bots.
So far, the studio is urging patience. They’ve promised more updates and say they’re focused on stopping XP abuses without stalling the game’s runaway momentum.
For now, if you’re heading into Strikepoint: don’t expect business as usual. Until the exploit is patched for good, everyone’s earning XP at the new, temporary rate, whether you’re chasing high-level gear or just trying to play it straight.
