Palworld 1.0 Release Date Confirmed: Leaves Early Access on 10 July 2026, Cinematic Trailer Premieres at Summer Game Fest

June 7, 2026 Off By Ibraheem Adeola

Palworld is set to exit early access with its full 1.0 launch on 10 July 2026, as revealed by developer Pocketpair during the Summer Game Fest with the game’s first-ever cinematic trailer and a major new update centring on the World Tree.

Palworld, the creature-collecting adventure developed by Pocketpair, will officially launch version 1.0 on 10 July 2026, ending its period of early access. The announcement was made public during Summer Game Fest, where Pocketpair premiered the game’s first high-production-value cinematic trailer to mark this milestone. The trailer, introduced with the line “Pal Tamers, the time has come! A strange energy is coming from the World Tree,” was released across multiple platforms, punctuating the update’s importance for the Palworld community and the broader gaming audience.

The official Palworld account (@Palworld_EN) confirmed via social media on 5 June 2026:
“🚨 Palworld 1.0 – July 10th! Pal Tamers, the time has come! A strange energy is coming from the World Tree… Palworld’s first-ever cinematic trailer debuted at Summer Game Fest alongside the release date you have been waiting for! Gather your Pals. Palpagos awaits!”

Since Palworld entered early access, the World Tree has been a focal point for speculation and narrative intrigue. Speaking with Eurogamer in early 2025, Pocketpair community manager John “Bucky” Buckley stated:
The World Tree, where the ‘ending’ takes place, has been visible since day one.
Many players suspected their journey would end there, and we’ve been asked repeatedly about when the World Tree will become available so we’re pretty excited to finally be opening the area up for players!

Buckley also confirmed that the game’s core narrative involving the World Tree was established well before release: The game’s core mystery has “been mapped out for quite some time”.

The opening of the World Tree in Palworld’s 1.0 update resolves one of the longest-standing questions in the community and delivers on content that has been present as an in-game location since the very first day of release.

Development Hurdles: Legal Disputes and Gameplay Changes

Palworld’s development has faced notable legal scrutiny due to similarities with the Pokémon franchise. In September 2024, Nintendo announced a lawsuit against Pocketpair for alleged infringement of “multiple” patents, later confirmed to target three specific patents. As a direct result, Pocketpair implemented a key gameplay change in December 2024:
Pocketpair subsequently removed the ability to summon creatures by throwing Pokéball-style Pal Spheres.

Despite the controversy and forced alterations, Palworld maintained strong community support, culminating in sustained anticipation for the full 1.0 launch and the opening of the World Tree content.
