Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition: What’s Paid, Free, and When It Unlocks

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition: What’s Paid, Free, and When It Unlocks

August 14, 2026 Off

Ghost of Yōtei’s new paid content unlocks October 1 globally and October 2 in some territories.

By Ibraheem Adeola

Ghost of Yōtei’s new paid content and patch v2.0 are scheduled to unlock on October 1, 2026, globally and October 2 in some territories, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The later regional date is important for players deciding when they can access Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, and the update’s free features.

For existing players, the key distinction is that Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted are paid content, while several patch features will be available without buying the Complete Edition Upgrade. PlayStation lists the Complete Edition at $69.99 in the US and the existing-owner upgrade at $14.99. Prices in other storefront regions may differ.

When Ghost of Yōtei’s October content unlocks

Announcement Trailer

Sucker Punch’s official PlayStation.Blog announcement sets the patch v2.0 rollout for October 1 globally, with an explicit October 2 exception in some territories. The announcement names Asia, Australia, and New Zealand among the places covered by the later date. PlayStation has not provided a country-by-country availability table beyond that wording. Players in a potentially affected territory should therefore check their local PlayStation Store rather than assuming the October 1 headline applies to them.

What the $69.99 Complete Edition and $14.99 upgrade add

For a new buyer, the $69.99 US Complete Edition package includes the base Ghost of Yōtei game, Ghost of Yōtei Legends, Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, the in-game content previously included with the Digital Deluxe Edition, and the Charm of Hokkyokusei. Existing owners can use the separately listed $14.99 Complete Edition Upgrade to obtain the paid additions. Buying that upgrade is not required to receive the free patch features announced for current owners.

Echoes of Sekigahara

Echoes of Sekigahara is a narrative expansion split between the present and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland. It introduces Nagato and takes players to a previously unseen valley once inhabited by The Snake and a group of followers known as the Vipers, according to the official announcement.

Most Wanted

Most Wanted is separate from Legends. It is a single-player combat survival mode in which players accept bounties to begin runs, earn perks by defeating enemies, and unlock additional playable characters.

“Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted is a brand new single-player combat survival mode, our spin on a roguelike.”

Andrew Goldfarb, senior communications manager at Sucker Punch Productions, writing on PlayStation.Blog

Sucker Punch has not announced the narrative expansion’s length, Most Wanted’s complete character roster, the full run structure, or detailed rewards. The studio said it will share more about both additions closer to launch.

What every Ghost of Yōtei owner gets free

Patch v2.0 also includes features that do not require the Complete Edition or its upgrade. These include the new Beauty of Yōtei mode, the ability to use an armor set’s appearance separately from its stats, and a high-contrast accessibility option.

“For anyone who owns Ghost of Yōtei, even without purchasing the Complete Edition upgrade, a new patch on October 1 will add the new Beauty of Yōtei mode.”

Andrew Goldfarb, senior communications manager at Sucker Punch Productions, writing on PlayStation.Blog

That statement uses the global October 1 date; the official October 2 exception still applies in the specified territories.

  • New players: The Complete Edition combines the base game, Legends, the two new paid additions, and the listed digital items in one package.
  • Existing owners who want the new paid content: The $14.99 US upgrade adds Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, and the included digital items.
  • Existing owners interested only in the patch features: Beauty of Yōtei, separate armor appearance and stats, and the high-contrast option do not require the paid upgrade.

The US PlayStation Store listing also advertises a limited-time Sakai Armor early unlock for purchases made by September 30, 2026. Buyers should check their local storefront for regional pricing and availability.
