Rainbow Six Mobile shutdown set for January 15, 2027
October 10, 2026Ubisoft says more seasonal content is still planned, but it has not announced whether players will receive refunds, credits or other compensation.
Rainbow Six Mobile will remain playable until its online services end on January 15, 2027. Ubisoft has confirmed that it is sunsetting the tactical shooter, although another season is still scheduled to arrive during the wind-down.
The date is not merely the end of new development. Ubisoft’s official support FAQ identifies January 15, 2027 as the date on which the game’s online services will end.
“There’s no easy way to put it: we have made the difficult decision to sunset Rainbow Six Mobile. The game will remain available until January 15, 2027. The next season will be released as planned next week.”
That statement came from the Rainbow Six Mobile Dev Team in its October 8 shutdown announcement.
Can you still play Rainbow Six Mobile?
Yes, according to Ubisoft. Rainbow Six Mobile is set to remain playable until its online services end on January 15, 2027. Ubisoft has not said whether the app will be removed from the App Store or Google Play before then, however, or whether existing users will be able to reinstall it throughout the wind-down.
Ubisoft’s support FAQ also says the next seasons will be released as planned. The October 8 developer message specifically said the next season was scheduled for the following week, so the shutdown announcement did not cancel that immediate content release.
The company has not published a complete schedule for the remaining content, explained what each planned season will contain or said whether in-app purchases will continue until online services close.
Has Ubisoft announced Rainbow Six Mobile refunds?

No refund policy has been announced. That does not mean Ubisoft has ruled out refunds, credits, premium-currency conversions or another form of compensation; none of those outcomes has been confirmed either way.
In response to a question about a refund strategy for the last season’s content, Ubisoft’s FAQ says: “Additional details on the transition will be shared with players in the upcoming weeks.” The response promises more information, but it is not a promise that refunds will be offered.
Players should therefore avoid treating speculation about compensation as official policy. Ubisoft has also not explained what will happen to paid currency, cosmetics, progression or account data after online services end.
The shutdown comes less than 11 months after the worldwide launch
Rainbow Six Mobile had been in soft launch since 2023 and had passed through 15 seasons by the time Ubisoft announced the shutdown. Its full worldwide availability was considerably more recent: Ubisoft said the game was officially live worldwide on February 24, 2026.
That puts the scheduled end of online services on January 15, 2027 less than 11 months after the confirmed worldwide launch. Ubisoft had previously announced February 23 as its intended launch date, while its subsequent live-worldwide post was published on February 24.
Why is Rainbow Six Mobile shutting down?
Ubisoft has given a limited explanation based on resource allocation. “The decision to sunset the game was made to align our resources with our long-term strategic priorities,” the company says in its official FAQ.
Ubisoft has not publicly attributed the decision to a specific player-count or revenue figure, and it has not identified the projects that will receive those resources.
What Ubisoft still needs to clarify
The announced shutdown date answers how long the online service is intended to remain playable, but several practical questions are unresolved. Ubisoft has not yet said whether recent spending will be addressed, when the app might be delisted, whether existing users will retain reinstall access or what account information will remain available after the service ends.
Until Ubisoft publishes its promised transition details, the confirmed position is narrow: online services end January 15, 2027, planned seasonal content is still moving forward, and no refund outcome has been announced.
