Datamine Points to Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Drop Just as Season 1 Begins

Datamine Points to Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Drop Just as Season 1 Begins

October 26, 2025 Off By Ibraheem Adeola

Battlefield 6 looks set to launch its Battle Royale mode, codenamed “Granite”, alongside Season 1 on October 28, according to a fresh datamine making waves in the shooter community. If the leaks are real, you could be parachuting into a whole new way to play Battlefield 6 as early as next week.

The rumour mill spun up after ModernWarzone, a well-known Battlefield and Call of Duty news account, got its hands on info uncovered in the EA App’s code. They reported new content, clearly separate from the already scheduled Season 1 rollout, dropping October 28. With the codename “Granite” and the timing perfectly aligning with Season 1’s debut, the signs are pointing strongly to the long-awaited Battle Royale launch.

All Eyes on Granite: The Battle Royale Clues Stack Up

Here’s where things get interesting. Earlier this month, Battlefield Studios told its community point-blank that Battle Royale was high on its post-launch agenda. In a recent update, the team said, “There is much more to look forward to beyond our Seasons…starting with an exciting new Battlefield take on Battle Royale.” That’s as close to a direct tease as you’ll get in big-budget games.

ModernWarzone’s social post, complete with a datamined image and a telling wink to Battlefield fans, all but spells it out: “Think it’s safe to say this is the BF6 Battle Royale.” The leak was credited to @onebattlefield, who helped surface the details to the wider community. Response from the fanbase has been immediate, anticipation over a fresh Battle Royale is running high, especially after the lukewarm reception to past experiments like Firestorm in Battlefield V.

Assuming the leak pans out, Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale launch will land right as players are already flocking in for the first big wave of post-launch content. That’s no accident. It’s a move that could reshape the game’s player base in just a matter of days.

This Battle Royale drop isn’t the only big event on the Battlefield 6 calendar. Season 1 kicks off on October 28 and brings three major waves of free content through the end of the year:

  • Rogue Ops (October 28): Expect the new Blackwell Fields map, the all-new Strikepoint mode, plus a fresh vehicle, carbine, sidearm, sniper rifle, and loads of attachments. It’s a loaded start for the first season.
  • California Resistance (November 18): Watch for the Eastwood map, the limited-time Sabotage mode, a new shotgun, sidearm, attachments, and the debut of a new “battle pickups” system.
  • Winter Offensive (December 9): This wave features the limited-time Ice Lock event and a cold-as-ice Empire State map, a perfect setup for the new Ice Climbing Axe melee weapon and more to round out the year.

Each update is poised to bring fresh life and variety to the rotation, with new modes and weapons keeping even returning veterans on their toes. If the Battle Royale lands as the interlude between these waves, Battlefield 6 might finally crack the code for extending its post-launch momentum.

Battlefield 6’s multiplayer is already drawing praise, with VGC’s review applauding its maps and modes and calling it “extremely fun to play, rewarding and full of excellent maps and modes.” The review admits the single player is just “fine, if largely tertiary,” but multiplayer is exactly what series fans have been missing. “This is the Battlefield multiplayer suite that will bring those lost by 2042 back into the fold.”

With a robust new Battle Royale possibly days away, the stakes for this Season 1 launch just went way up. Keep your eyes out next week, you might be dropping into something big.
