Firing Range Is Back (Cue the ‘08 Nostalgia)

Let’s just get this out of the way: Firing Range, one of the most beloved multiplayer maps in Call of Duty history, is officially back in Black Ops 6. The 6v6 remaster of the iconic Black Ops 1 map is arriving right at the start of Season 3. For those of us who have been out here getting sniped between wooden panels since the Xbox 360 days—this is a big win.
And it’s not alone. Other maps arriving include:
- Blazetown: A temporary 4/20-themed Nuketown variant. Get your laughs and lighters ready.
- Barrage: Set in Vietnam, expect intense close-range 6v6 gunplay.
- Nomad: A strike map located in some well-worn Afghan ruins, great for both 2v2 and 6v6.
- Haven (midseason): A moody KGB safehouse setup.
- Signal (midseason): A submarine bay that screams tactical chaos.
Zombies Get Veil’d Again: Shattered Veil Launches

The undead menace continues in Shattered Veil, a new Zombies map that drops players into Richtofen’s creepy, overrun Liberty Falls mansion. You know what that means: eerie hallways, twisted experiments, and boss zombies that make you say, “Nope.”
- Main Story Quest: Available at launch. Finish it to unlock the “PhDeadly” Carver skin and a couple of other shiny things.
- New Enemies: Elder Disciples and toxic zombies that love to explode in your face. Nice.
- Two Wonder Weapons:
- Wunderwaffe DG-2: Classic, electric mayhem.
- Ray Gun Mark II – with three upgradable variants:
- W: Turns into an SMG and sometimes lights enemies on fire.
- P: Shotgun burst + a safe zone sigil = OP.
- R: Long-range, AoE plague-spreading madness.
Add in the return of Double Tap (bless), and this is shaping up to be the most fun you’ll have screaming while trying to reload.
Jay & Silent Bob Join The Fight?!

Yes, that Jay and Silent Bob. The cult classic duo is joining CoD as operator bundles. And they’re bringing their comic-book alter-egos Bluntman and Chronic with them. The bundles drop just in time for 4/20 and will come with themed cosmetics. If you’ve ever wanted to wipe squads in Warzone while quoting Kevin Smith movies, your dreams are now fully valid.
Back in the Multiplayer Mix
Multiplayer is getting a lot of love too:
- Joint Operations: A limited-time, stoner-themed mode featuring low gravity, hallucinations, third-person POV, and more. Think CoD meets Willy Wonka’s Factory. Coming soon.
- Demolition and Sharpshooter modes are back. Classic chaos. Big W.
Ranked Play Upgrades, New Battle Pass, and More

Ranked Play is leveling up this season with a new rejoin system. Disconnect mid-match? You now have five minutes to get back in without wrecking your SR. Bless.
And yes, the Battle Pass has new operators like:
- Jason Hudson (OG Black Ops)
- Mace (Modern Warfare 2019)
The BlackCell Pass returns too (if you’re feeling bougie).
New perks include:
- Close Shave (Slot 1): Your melee game just got automatic.
- Vendetta (Slot 2): Respawn and mark the punk who just clapped you.
And if you’re craving carnage, the Death Machine scorestreak is back. It takes 825 points, but the sheer bullet rain is worth it.
The Black Ops Tribute Event

Running April 17–May 1, the Black Ops Tribute Event is the ultimate XP grind-fest. Packed with nostalgia, themed cosmetics, and rewards spanning across Zombies, MP, and Warzone, it’s the perfect excuse to go full “no-life mode.”
Is It the Best Season Yet?
Between Firing Range, Shattered Veil, the Wonder Weapons, and Jay and Silent Bob (seriously, still processing that), Black Ops 6 Season 3 might be the most jam-packed season since launch. And with mid-season content teasing even more weirdness and weaponry, now is the perfect time to squad up, drop in, and cause beautiful chaos.
