CoD Warzone Season 3 Brings Back Verdansk, Adds Bots, and Shakes Up Omnimovement

CoD Warzone Season 3 Brings Back Verdansk, Adds Bots, and Shakes Up Omnimovement

March 28, 2025 Off By Ibraheem Adeola

Just when we thought Call of Duty had peaked with its surprise drops, CoD Warzone Season 3 swoops in with a megaton update that brings Verdansk back from the dead—and it’s shinier than ever. From retro weapons to reimagined POIs and a new mode filled with bots (yes, really), this season is Activision’s way of saying, “You missed the chaos? Here—have it all back, plus a few wildcards.” Let’s break it down, old-school style.

Return to Verdansk: New Look, Same Mayhem

Verdansk is the main star of the show here, and it’s not just a copy-paste from 2020. The map has been rebuilt with better lighting, smoother textures, and overall cleaner visibility—basically, it’s been to therapy and glowed up.

Despite being nearly a 1:1 replica, Verdansk 2.0 brings subtle changes: extra ladders, open windows, and ankle-deep water at the Dam (yup, no more frozen feet). The southern edge has also been extended into the swimmable Kastovian Sea, adding literal depth to flanking routes. And no more shadow-camping with the infamous Roze skin—lighting in dark corners has been tweaked so players can’t lurk in evil anime villain mode anymore.

OG Weapons Are Back in the Battle Pass

Ready to relive your Verdansk glory days? The Season 3 battle pass lets you unlock the CR-56 AMAX and HDR sniper rifle, two fan-favorites from the original Warzone meta. You’ll also be able to score the Kilo 141 via the Return to Verdansk event, which drops on April 3. And if that’s not enough firepower, the upcoming event will also gift you 20 other rewards for just… playing the game. No paywall shenanigans here—just pure chaos.

Omnimovement Toned Down (But It’s Still Juicy)

Remember when Warzone turned into a parkour simulator? That’s being dialed back slightly. Omnimovement is getting some much-needed fine-tuning to make the game feel closer to its roots. Less bunny-hopping-on-caffeine, more tactical aggression. A little nostalgia, a little finesse—it’s a balancing act, and Season 3 is walking that line.

Bots, Bots, Bots: Casual Mode Enters the Chat

A new “Battle Royale Casual” mode introduces up to 120 bots with just 28 real players. It’s Warzone Lite for the easily frustrated or those just here to vibe. Don’t worry though—no XP farming, no stat padding. It’s just a playground for warming up, trying weird loadouts, or discovering if you’re actually cracked or just good against bots. Perfect for gamers who say, “I swear, I usually drop 20.”

Big Map, Big Plans: Verdansk Is Evolving Again

Verdansk isn’t done once Season 3 launches. Activision promises a dynamic map throughout the season—starting with POI updates and even… wait for it… a moving train (choo-choo, it’s back). New Easter eggs and underground locations are also on the horizon, and one mysterious element is teased as “redacted.” Is it aliens? Zombies? Ghosts of lost gulag fights? No clue—but we’re in.

Also: Stadium’s rooftop ascenders are here. The rest? Coming later for full nostalgia drip-feed.

With the grand return of Verdansk comes the bittersweet farewell to Urzikstan and Area 99. If you’ve grown attached to Modern Warfare 3’s newest map or BO6’s Resurgence layout, sorry—but they’re hitting the bench for now. Activision says Urzikstan is “retired,” not “deleted,” so hey, maybe it’s just on vacation?

Ranked, Plunder, and Gulag Glory

Season 3 also brings Ranked Play and Plunder back to Verdansk. Ranked comes with rejoin features now (finally), so if your internet has commitment issues, you’ve got five minutes to come crawling back. There’s also reduced SR loss if your squadmate rejoins—because team loyalty should count for something. Oh, and Gulag? It’s Prison Showers again. The O.G. You versus some random guy with a shotgun and dreams. Classic.

Classic Vehicles, Classic Chaos

Helis, cargo trucks (yes, Bertha), and that deliciously busted vehicle physics are back. No more worrying about tire blowouts or running out of gas mid-rush. If it’s got wheels and HP, it explodes when it’s dead—just like the good old days.
