Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold sets February 23, 2027 release date as Zephyr is revealed
November 1, 2026Here is the pre-order and early-access timetable, plus what is confirmed about the Zephyr job.
Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, February 23, 2027. Square Enix confirmed the specific date alongside the reveal of Zephyr, Evercold’s second new job. For players planning their return, pre-orders begin November 4, 2026, and pre-order early access is scheduled to start February 19, 2027.
Evercold’s January release window has changed
Square Enix originally announced Evercold for January 2027. Its October 31 announcement instead set the expansion’s release for February 23, 2027, replacing that earlier window with a firm date.
Square Enix did not give a reason for the change in the announcements reviewed for this update. The practical point for players is that the launch is now scheduled for late February rather than January.
Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold release and pre-order timeline
- Wednesday, November 4, 2026: Pre-orders for Evercold and the Collector’s Box begin. Square Enix’s press announcement gives the start time as 9 a.m. GMT.
- Friday, February 19, 2027: Pre-order early access is scheduled to begin. The North American product page lists an approximate start time of 1 a.m. PST.
- Tuesday, February 23, 2027: Evercold is scheduled for its full release.
The official North American product page says early-access players must have Dawntrail registered to their service account and meet the listed quest-completion requirements. Anyone returning after a long break should check those requirements before counting on early access.
Which Evercold editions include early access?
On Square Enix’s North American product page, the Standard Edition is listed at US$44.99 and the Digital Collector’s Edition at US$64.99. Both list the same three pre-order bonuses: early access, the Wind-up Köttr Minion and Halone’s Earring.
There is an important distinction to make before buying. The separately listed US$255 Collector’s Box does not include a copy of Evercold, in-game items or pre-order bonuses, according to the official product page. It is therefore not a substitute for buying the expansion itself.
Those prices and contents are specific to the North American product page. Players in other regions should check their local storefronts for regional pricing and availability.
What Zephyr adds to Evercold
Zephyr is Evercold’s second new job. Square Enix describes it as a physical ranged DPS that fights using crossbow shots and assistance from an avian familiar named Nephele.
That puts Zephyr in a different role from Bastion, the first Evercold job revealed. Bastion is a main tank that wields paired greatshields called skyltborg. The expansion’s two announced jobs therefore cover a tank role and a physical ranged damage role.
Square Enix has not confirmed Zephyr’s starting level, unlock location or complete action list in the official sources reviewed for this update. For now, the official description establishes its role, weapon style and familiar, while the job trailer provides a first-party look at Zephyr in motion.
What players should do now
If you want to play at the beginning of early access, the first date to note is November 4 for pre-orders, followed by the February 19 early-access start. If you are choosing between editions, the Standard and Digital Collector’s Editions on Square Enix’s North American page both list early access as a pre-order bonus. The separate Collector’s Box does not include the expansion license.
Check Square Enix’s Evercold product page for current product availability and regional purchase details. The publisher has also posted a Lodestone announcement confirming the February 23 release date, November 4 pre-order date and February 19 early-access period.
