Ghost of Yōtei’s ‘Legends’ Online Co-op Launches 10 March with New Classes, Missions, and Raids
February 14, 2026Sucker Punch Productions has confirmed that Ghost of Yōtei’s highly anticipated online co-op mode, ‘Legends’, will launch as a free update on 10 March 2026, offering all owners three mission types, four distinct playable classes, and a challenging post-launch raid in April.
During the PlayStation State of Play broadcast on 13 February 2026, Sucker Punch Productions revealed that Ghost of Yōtei Legends will be available at no extra cost for all existing Ghost of Yōtei owners beginning 10 March. This major update introduces robust online multiplayer features, building on the fan-favourite Legends mode previously seen in Ghost of Tsushima. The update is designed for PlayStation 5, with details and trailers widely disseminated by the PlayStation and Sucker Punch teams.
Legends Multiplayer: Mission Types and Gameplay Features
According to the developer, Sucker Punch, Ghost of Yōtei Legends will launch with three mission types: Survival, Story, and Incursions. The studio explained, “In Survival, you can team up with up to three other players to take down waves of increasingly difficult enemies on one of four maps.” Players must fight for territory control within each map, with unique mechanics tailored to each battlefield. The team elaborated, “While you control a location, you can activate a Blessing, offering you an advantage in battle. But if you lose control, you’ll unleash a Curse, putting your team at a disadvantage.” These Blessings and Curses vary by map, creating unique challenges and opportunities every session.
The Story mode allows for two players to partner up and experience a branching narrative across twelve missions. Sucker Punch specified, “After completing each set of three Story missions, you’ll unlock an Incursion, which is a large-scale four-player assault on a stronghold belonging to a member of the Yōtei Six,” raising the stakes through major boss encounters. Bosses include supernatural iterations of the Spider, the Oni, the Kitsune, and the Snake. Sucker Punch continued, “Each Incursion will culminate in a boss fight versus a giant, supernatural version of the Spider, the Oni, the Kitsune, or the Snake.”
Looking ahead, Sucker Punch also confirmed further post-launch content, stating, “As for the other members of the Yōtei Six, in April we’ll release a Raid putting your team to the ultimate test, where you can expect to take on the Dragon and Lord Saito himself.”
Playable Classes: Samurai, Archer, Mercenary, Shinobi Detailed

Ghost of Yōtei Legends will offer four fully realised multiplayer classes, each featuring unique weapons and abilities that enhance co-op gameplay:
- Samurai: Wields the ōdachi and has access to the largest range of weapon types.
- Archer: Uses the yari (spear) and an additional ranged weapon for flexible attack options.
- Mercenary: Fights with dual katanas and offers a variety of utility-focused abilities.
- Shinobi: Employs the kusarigama and specialises in stealth-focused skills.
Every class in Legends can use both a katana and a ranged weapon, but exclusive strengths set their playstyles apart. The studio clarified, “Any class can use a ranged weapon in addition to a katana, but of course, each will have their own unique strengths.” Sucker Punch’s direct examples include the Samurai’s wide weapon variety and the Shinobi’s comprehensive stealth toolkit.
