Marvel Tōkon PC performance issues: Steam launch status and patch uncertainty
August 8, 2026Launched with a Mixed Steam rating and individual reports of frame-rate, CPU, startup and online problems.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launched on PC and PS5 on 6 August 2026, and its first-day Steam reception gives prospective PC buyers reason to be cautious. When checked on 7 August, the game’s Steam store page showed a Mixed rating: 44% of 1,622 user reviews were positive. That aggregate covers every reason people review a game, not only performance, but several individual launch-day reviews reported frame-rate trouble, stutter, high CPU use, launch failures or online problems.
Arc System Works acknowledged PC performance and online concerns before release and said improvements were planned for day one. However, the official material retrieved for this update does not include a post-launch patch note confirming which changes shipped or whether they resolved the problems described by those players.
What Arc System Works promised before launch
In a pre-launch Steam Community announcement, the Marvel Tōkon development team wrote:
“To our PC players, message received. The team is already hard at work on the performance you deserve, with improvements lined up for day one:”
The announcement said the planned work included:
- Reducing overall CPU usage to improve performance.
- Addressing frame-rate drops and lag.
- Preventing unnecessary shader compilation during startup.
- Improving compatibility with OBS and Discord.
- Addressing rollback-netcode and cross-play issues.
The list matters because concerns were visible before release. PC Gamer reported that beta players had encountered stuttering and optimisation problems and that the developer had acknowledged PC gameplay and performance issues. Operation Sports also covered the developer’s plans to address CPU use, frame drops and online issues.
A pre-launch commitment is not the same as a completed patch report. The retrieved announcement does not identify a post-launch patch version, provide a final changelog or show performance results after release.
What the first Steam feedback establishes

Individual launch-day reviews visible through the Steam Community Hub describe a range of PC problems. Some reviewers reported poor frame rates or stutter, while others mentioned high CPU use, a black window during launch, rollback spikes or poor online performance.
Those reports are relevant signals because they were posted after the game became available, but they are not a representative technical test. They do not establish how frequently each problem occurs, which hardware or software configurations may be involved, or whether every promised day-one change was active for those players.
The 44% positive Steam score similarly shows substantial early dissatisfaction without identifying a single cause. Steam reviews can reflect gameplay preferences, pricing, connection quality and other concerns in addition to PC optimisation, so the aggregate should not be treated as a performance benchmark.
Is the Marvel Tōkon PC version fixed?
The available evidence does not support a definitive answer. Arc System Works said it had improvements lined up for day one, but the retrieved official sources do not confirm the deployment status or effectiveness of each promised change. At the same time, post-release player complaints show that performance and online concerns remained visible during the launch window.
That does not prove every PC is affected. It also does not show that PS5 performs better, because the reviewed material contains no controlled comparison between the console and PC versions.
Should PC players buy now or wait?
Players who prioritise stable frame rates, lower CPU demand and dependable online matches may prefer to wait for clearer post-launch information. Useful confirmation would include an official patch version and changelog, a known-issues list, details about the CPU and shader-compilation changes, and updated player feedback after any documented patch arrives.
Steam identifies Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls as an Arc System Works game published by PlayStation Publishing LLC and released on 6 August 2026. For now, the evidence supports a narrow conclusion: significant PC launch concerns are visible, but neither a universal PC failure nor the success or failure of every promised fix has been established.
