PlayStation Plus Premium Just Dropped Its Wildest Lineup Yet — Cyberpunk 2077, Planet Zoo & More

PlayStation Plus Premium Just Dropped Its Wildest Lineup Yet — Cyberpunk 2077, Planet Zoo & More

July 10, 2025 Off By Ibraheem Adeola

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, it’s time to clear your schedule. Sony’s dropped its latest lineup for July 2025, and might be the most eclectic, wildest selection yet—perfectly pairing chaotic co-op, heart-wrenching storytelling, and some darn cute animals.

Announced officially during the State of Play on 9th July 2025, this month’s PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium titles will start rolling out from 16th July. Whether you’re here for post-apocalyptic roleplaying in Cyberpunk 2077 or you’re an isometric strategy buff looking to toy with power in Tropico 6, you’re about to get your hands super busy.

Cyberpunk 2077 Hits Game Subscription Slayer Mode

After years of patches, influencer debates, and getting Keanu Reeves to say “you’re breathtaking,” Cyberpunk 2077 is finally having its redemption moment. Yeah, you could’ve spent £40–£60 ($54-$81) on it before, but now? It’s dropping straight into PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium—for zero cost if you’re subbed in.

The game has had a miraculous turnaround since its rocky launch in 2020. Thanks to CD Projekt RED’s months of updates and the impactful Phantom Liberty expansion (also included in the PS Plus Premium tier), players now get a definitely playable version of Night City. New-gen features are untouched on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, so expect slick ray tracing and absolutely no T-poses in sight. Well, probably.

Planet Zoo Roars to Console—Finally

Planet Zoo: Console Edition has officially made its way from the PC savannah to your living room sofa. Originally developed by Frontier Developments, the zoo tycoon-style sim lets you design ethical habitats, breed rare animals, and watch nature documentaries come to life—except you’re the director now.

Featuring complete controller support and optimised UI for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, console players don’t have to suffer through mouse-wheel menus anymore. And yes, you can fully name your jaguar “Clawed Jungleman III”. We won’t judge.

It’s worth noting the console version lacks some Steam Workshop content, but hey, that’s the PC tax. Still, with mod-like console tools and detailed animal AI, it’s one of the more complex and addictive simulation titles out there—and perfect for chill summer nights.

Banishers and Abiotic Factor Bring Twists to Team-Based Adventures

If emotional storytelling wrapped in supernatural lore is your thing, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is your July mood. Developed by DONTNOD Entertainment, the same developers behind Life is Strange, this action RPG takes you to a haunted 17th-century frontier where lovers become paranormal investigators (as you do). Expect rich writing, tragic choices, and huge emotional payoffs—plus solid third-person swordplay that’s been surprisingly polished. It scored rave reviews earlier this year and honestly? It’s a hidden gem in July’s release pile.

Then there’s Abiotic Factor. Possibly the strangest sleeper hit of 2024, it’s a science-themed co-op survival title where you and your labmates attempt to escape dimensional anomalies after “something goes wrong” (it always does). It’s a blend of Half-Life meets Don’t Starve Together, and shockingly chaotic with friends. Perfect for Premium tier subscribers craving multiplayer madness with a quirky twist.

Risk of Rain 2 Lands on PlayStation Plus, Again

Risk of Rain 2 hops back onto PlayStation Plus like a teleport-happy Engineer. This third-person roguelike, developed by Hopoo Games, has become a cult favourite since release—and with good reason. The gameplay loop is dead simple and endlessly satisfying: shoot monsters, level up, find loot, repeat—with permadeath keeping you on edge. The enemies adapt in real time, ramping difficulty until you’re overwhelmed—or you pull off the clutch win. And with multiplayer, It’s chaos squared. If you missed it the last time around, now’s your excuse to dive back into Petrichor V. Just maybe set aside a few hours. That “one more run” mindset hits hard.

Tropico 6 Is Dictator Sim at Its Peak

Trading capitalism for chaos? Tropico 6 gives you a high-definition sandbox to rule as a corrupt dictator or beloved leader—it’s your PR spin. This bird’s eye real-time strategy game by Kalypso Media spices up the city-building genre with espionage, political manipulation, and exporting loads of bananas (obviously). What’s new for console gamers is the stability and enhanced UI on PS5—menus have been remastered for smoother navigation, while load times have been drastically chopped down. Whether you’re managing the economy, suppressing rebels, or just vibing to Caribbean tunes, it’s a strategy title that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still offers deep management layers.

PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra:

  • Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5, PS4)
  • Abiotic Factor (PS5)
  • Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden | PS5
  • Bluey: The Videogame (PS5, PS4)
  • Planet Zoo: Console Edition (PS5)
  • Risk of Rain 2 (PS5, PS4)
  • Tropico 6 (PS5, PS4)
  • New World: Aeternum (PS5)

PlayStation Plus Premium:

  • Twisted Metal 3 (PS5, PS4)
  • Twisted Metal 4 (PS5, PS4)

No Geographic Limits—No Preorders Needed

One of the best perks of this month’s lineup? Zero region locks. That’s right—there’s no country-exclusive biz preventing you from downloading these titles if you’re subbed to the right tier. Just hop in from the 16th via the in-console store or PlayStation Store. No pre-orders needed, obviously—it’s a sub-based drop. But you’ve only got this window while the games remain active in the July library. So don’t sit on it too long. Also, make sure your account is tied to the correct region, just in case there’s a hiccup. And if you’re on PlayStation Plus Essential and looking seriously at some of these Premium games—well, maybe now’s the time to upgrade. Just saying.

There’s Something for Every Player Style

July 2025’s PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium lineup is loud, diverse, and low-key genius. From shadowy cybernetics to zoo design, political tyranny to ghost hunting, players can tap into virtually any mood—all with one subscription. Get ready to re-download, redownload—or just download for the first time—the weirdest, best and boldest line-up this subscription’s seen in a hot minute. Now excuse yourself while you open 13 tabs comparing Tropico population happiness metrics to zoo panda density. It’s that kinda month.
