Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6. Armored Mewtwo is the five-star raid target on both days. The Super Mega Raid headliner changes: Mega Mewtwo X appears on Saturday, while Mega Mewtwo Y appears on Sunday.

Shiny Armored Mewtwo is not available during this return. The separate official Armored Mewtwo announcement confirms its five-star raid appearance on Saturday and Sunday and explicitly rules out its Shiny form.
The official announcement does not provide a separate hourly Armored Mewtwo schedule. However, Leek Duck’s independent Mega Finale schedule lists those raids as available throughout event hours on both days.
Armored Mewtwo and Mega Mewtwo are different raid targets
Armored Mewtwo is a five-star raid boss, not a Mega Raid boss. It is separate from Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y, which headline the event’s Super Mega Raids on different days.
The official event hub assigns Mega Mewtwo X to Saturday and Mega Mewtwo Y to Sunday. If you only have a short playing window and want a particular Mega Mewtwo form, choose the corresponding day rather than expecting both forms to appear together.
- Want Armored Mewtwo? Play during event hours on either Saturday or Sunday.
- Want Mega Mewtwo X? Prioritise Saturday.
- Want Mega Mewtwo Y? Prioritise Sunday.
- Want both Mega Mewtwo forms? Plan a raid session on each day.
How the habitat rotations affect Mega Raids
Eight habitats are included across Mega Finale. Four appear on each event day, and each of the day’s four habitats rotates in twice. According to the official event hub, the active habitat determines the rotating Mega Raid bosses at gyms other than those hosting certain Super Mega Raids.
For a short session, use the day’s Mega Mewtwo form as the fixed planning point: target Mega Mewtwo X on Saturday or Mega Mewtwo Y on Sunday, then check which other Mega Raid bosses are associated with the active habitat. Armored Mewtwo remains a separate five-star target rather than one of the habitat-dependent Mega Raid bosses.
The available evidence confirms that each day’s habitats repeat but does not establish a complete, verified hourly timetable for this guide. Use the in-game event display and official hub to check the active rotation before committing raid items.
Which bonuses apply to every player?
Two raid-related bonuses apply to all players on September 5 and 6:
- There is no Remote Raid limit.
- Mega-Evolved Pokémon receive an extra CP boost.
Both universal bonuses are listed on the official Mega Finale hub. The removed Remote Raid limit provides more flexibility for joining raids, but it does not change the Saturday and Sunday assignments for Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y.
What does GO Pass Deluxe add?
GO Pass Deluxe can provide bonus Candy, Candy XL and XP from Mega Raids. It also increases the chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon from certain Mega Raids and event encounters.
That increased chance applies only to eligible encounters described by the event. It does not override the separate announcement that Shiny Armored Mewtwo is unavailable during this return.
A simple plan if you only have a few hours
- Playing Saturday: look for Mega Mewtwo X Super Mega Raids first, then fit Armored Mewtwo five-star raids around them.
- Playing Sunday: prioritise Mega Mewtwo Y Super Mega Raids, with Armored Mewtwo still available as the five-star target.
- Only want Armored Mewtwo: choose whichever day is more convenient and check nearby gyms during the local event window.
- Raiding remotely: use the removed Remote Raid limit for flexibility, while remembering that each Mega Mewtwo form remains tied to its assigned day.
The essential distinction is simple: Armored Mewtwo is available as a five-star raid target across both days, Mega Mewtwo X headlines Saturday’s Super Mega Raids, and Mega Mewtwo Y headlines Sunday’s. Choose the Mewtwo form you need first, then use the repeating habitat rotation to plan the rest of your session.
