Maneater 2 is planned for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, but its exact date, price, release format and Switch 2 performance details have not been announced.

Maneater 2 is planned for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. Gematsu reports that publisher Tripwire Interactive and developer Demiurge Studios announced the shark-action sequel for Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles and PC, with a 2027 launch window.

That is the useful headline for Nintendo players. The important caveat is that the reviewed announcement materials do not provide a more exact Switch 2 release date, price, pre-order date, Nintendo eShop listing, physical-edition plan or technical specifications. Those details should not be inferred from the initial announcement.

Is Maneater 2 coming to Nintendo Switch 2?

Yes. Nintendo Life also reports that the sequel is in development for Switch 2 and expected in 2027. Tripwire and Demiurge Studios are working on the game. In a developer-authored PlayStation Blog reveal post, Tripwire Digital Marketing Manager Mason Moreau said the two teams were working to deliver the next “ShaRkPG.”

What is the Maneater 2 Switch 2 release date?

The confirmed answer is simply 2027.

There is an important platform-specific distinction. Tripwire’s PlayStation Blog post gives PS5 a later-2027 window, but its closing wording applies specifically to PlayStation 5. The announcement information identifying Switch 2 as a platform provides only the broader 2027 window, not a month or exact date for Nintendo’s console.

“Maneater 2 swims onto PlayStation 5 later in 2027.”

Until Tripwire provides a platform-wide update, players should treat a Switch 2 release in 2027 as announced but should not apply the PS5 timing to Nintendo’s version. It is also not known whether the Switch 2 edition will arrive on the same day as the other versions.

What has been announced about Maneater 2?

The sequel takes place during an invite-only preview event at Neptune’s Kingdom, a luxury private-island theme park. Players control a man-eating bull shark attempting to eat, explore and evolve her way to freedom, according to Tripwire’s developer-authored reveal post.

Trip Westhaven returns and will again be voiced by Chris Parnell. Tripwire has also confirmed that Maneater 2 is the first Maneater game built using Unreal Engine 5.

Those are game-wide announcements rather than promises about the Switch 2 edition. The use of Unreal Engine 5 does not by itself establish that version’s resolution, frame-rate target, HDR support, storage requirement or visual features.

What is still unknown about the Switch 2 version?

The reviewed announcement and storefront materials establish the game’s platform plan and broad 2027 window, but they do not provide all the practical information needed to plan a Switch 2 purchase. The following remain unconfirmed:

  • An exact Switch 2 release date
  • A Switch 2 price or pre-order date
  • A Nintendo eShop product page or download size
  • Whether a physical Switch 2 edition will be released
  • Resolution, frame-rate, HDR or other performance targets
  • Whether the Switch 2 edition will have complete feature and content parity with the other versions

The official Steam listing confirms a 2027 PC release and identifies Tripwire Interactive and Demiurge Studios as developers. As a PC storefront page, however, it cannot answer Nintendo-specific questions about retail plans, performance or feature parity.

For now, Maneater 2 is an announced Switch 2 game to watch in 2027, but it is too early to assume exactly when, how or at what price it will reach the console.
