Alan Ritchson is reportedly in talks to join Sony and PlayStation Productions’ Helldivers movie, but he has not been officially announced as a cast member. TheWrap reports that the Reacher actor is negotiating to play one of the Helldivers. The outlet also identifies Justin Lin as the film’s director.
The wording of the casting report matters. It does not establish that Ritchson has signed a deal, that he will be the movie’s sole lead or that he is taking over a specific role previously intended for Jason Momoa. For now, this is a report about negotiations rather than a confirmed casting announcement.
Is Alan Ritchson officially cast in the Helldivers movie?
No official confirmation was located in the Sony and Sony Interactive Entertainment materials reviewed on 18 September 2026. That limited finding does not prove that no statement exists elsewhere, but it means Ritchson’s involvement should remain described as reported unless Sony, PlayStation Productions or the actor confirms it directly.
