Xbox games for September 21–25, 2026: launches and Game Pass access

September 19, 2026 Off

Dune: Awakening, Well Dweller and CONTROL Resonant lead the September 21–25 Xbox schedule, but only some of the week’s games have confirmed Game Pass access.

Xbox’s September 21–25 release week raises two different questions: which games are scheduled to launch, and which of them can you access through the Game Pass tier you already have? The answers are not always the same.

Xbox Wire’s official September 21–25 schedule covers games coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox on PC and Game Pass. Xbox also cautions that release dates may change. This guide narrows that wider schedule to the week’s notable releases and checks subscription access against Xbox’s separate Game Pass announcement.

Xbox games coming September 21–25, 2026

Several of the highlighted releases are scheduled for September 22. Dune: Awakening is due that day, with Xbox listing access through Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC. According to Xbox’s September Game Pass announcement, it will be available through Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass.

Well Dweller, Graveyard Keeper 2 and Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked are also scheduled for September 22. Xbox marks Well Dweller as a Game Pass release with Smart Delivery and Xbox Play Anywhere. Battlemarked is also listed with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

CONTROL Resonant is scheduled for September 24. Xbox labels it Optimized for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Play Anywhere, but neither of the cited Xbox announcements confirms Game Pass access. For more pre-launch context, read our report on CONTROL Resonant’s Assist Mode and trophy policy.

EA Sports FC 27 is listed for September 25. The weekly release schedule includes a free-trial label, while Xbox’s Game Pass post says an EA Play early-access trial for console and PC became available on September 18. The cited announcements do not identify the full game as a Game Pass release.

Game Pass access for the week’s notable releases

Do not assume that every game in the weekly Xbox schedule is included with Game Pass. The release schedule identifies Dune: Awakening and Well Dweller as Game Pass games, but Xbox’s separate catalogue announcement is needed to determine the applicable tiers.

  • Dune: Awakening — September 22: Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass. Xbox lists Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC access.
  • Well Dweller — September 22: Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Xbox lists Cloud, console, handheld and PC access.
  • CONTROL Resonant — September 24: no Game Pass entitlement is confirmed in either cited Xbox announcement.
  • EA Sports FC 27 — September 25: an EA Play early-access trial for console and PC is confirmed, but the cited announcements do not confirm the full game for Game Pass.

Dune also has considerations beyond subscription access. Our previous coverage explains Dune: Awakening’s Xbox launch, single-player mode and cross-play limits.

Two September 25 Game Pass changes that are not new launches

Two additional games change tier availability on September 25 even though neither appears in Xbox’s separate September 21–25 release schedule. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 joins Game Pass Premium after already being available through Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Rematch becomes available through Game Pass Essential, alongside its availability through Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass.

These are Game Pass tier changes, not new Xbox releases on September 25. Pure Xbox’s coverage of the announcement similarly noted that several games were expanding into Premium rather than becoming newly available across every tier.

How to plan your Xbox week

Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers have confirmed access to both Dune: Awakening and Well Dweller on September 22. Premium subscribers have confirmed access to Dune: Awakening, but Well Dweller is not listed for that tier in Xbox’s announcement.

For games without confirmed Game Pass access, CONTROL Resonant is the notable September 24 release, while Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked adds another September 22 option with Xbox Play Anywhere support. Players interested in EA Sports FC 27 can check the announced EA Play trial before considering the full release.
