Grand Theft Auto 6 slips to late 2026 as GTA 5 quietly returns to PlayStation Plus

Grand Theft Auto 6 slips to late 2026 as GTA 5 quietly returns to PlayStation Plus

November 8, 2025 Off By Ibraheem Adeola

Grand Theft Auto 6 just hit another delay, but it’s not all bad news for GTA fans. Grand Theft Auto 5 looks set to stage a big comeback on PlayStation Plus this month.

Rockstar’s best-selling crime epic, which has now racked up more copies sold than there are people living in Brazil, is expected to land back in the PS Plus library for Extra and Premium tier subscribers. Reliable PS Plus tipster Dealabs reports that Sony will make an announcement on November 12th, with the game reportedly going live for subscribers on November 18th.

GTA 5 hasn’t been available for PS Plus members since Sony pulled it last year, making this return a big deal for anyone looking to revisit, or finally experience, Los Santos without having to buy the game outright.

If you’ve missed tearing up the streets of Los Santos, you won’t have to wait long to jump back in. GTA 5’s last stint on PS Plus ended in mid-2024, and while that absence didn’t go unnoticed, PlayStation users are about to get another chance to dive into the mayhem for free (well, if you’re subscribed to the right tier).

Dealabs hasn’t tipped off any other specific games joining the service with GTA 5, so for now, all eyes are on Rockstar’s mega-hit. As always, this kind of leak from Dealabs tends to stick, so you can set those reminders for Sony’s November announcement and the official relaunch in the subscription lineup a week later.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Delayed Again, but With “Unrivalled Blockbuster” Promises

Of course, what most fans really want is fresh news on GTA 6. Here’s the latest: players now have to wait even longer. Publisher Take-Two confirmed during its latest update that the next entry in Rockstar’s open-world series is now aiming for a November 19, 2026, launch. Don’t get too attached to that date either, the report wryly notes there’s no guarantee it won’t slip even further.

Why the extra time? Take-Two’s message was clear: this delay is “to finish the game with the high level of polish players expect and deserve.” They say Rockstar has their “full support” and sound confident the final product will be “an unrivalled blockbuster entertainment experience.”

For now, that means another two years of speculation, leaks, and fans picking apart every shred of information about GTA 6. If you’re craving more details on what’s coming, Rockstar and Take-Two are being tight-lipped. But with GTA 5 coming back to PS Plus soon, at least you’ll have a massive world to revisit, and maybe some time to plot your eventual return to Vice City or wherever GTA 6 is set.
