Monolith’s Wonder Woman Game Will Include The Nemesis System
January 10, 2022Wonder Woman is one of those iconic super-characters that require little to no introduction, especially among comic fans. Beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, swifter than Hermes, and stronger than Hercules. Wonder woman (Princess Diana of Themyscira) is a symbol of justice, truth, and equality for everyone. The amazon princess is an inspiring and exciting superheroine without a doubt, and it appears that things are about to get even more enjoyable for the legendary DC superheroine. This time we get to play as wonder woman in an upcoming wonder woman game.
Wonder Woman will be a third-person, open-world action-adventure game based on the legendary superhero from the DC Comics universe. Monolith Production, best known for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, will be the game’s developer. According to Monolith Production, the game will be a “single-player open-world action game that will introduce an original story set in the DC Universe and allow players to become Diana of Themyscira in the fight to unite her Amazon family and the humans from the modern world.”
At the moment, it’s unclear whether the Wonder Woman game will include any other DC characters. However, at least a few familiar characters from the Wonder Woman comics are almost certain to appear. On December 9, the first trailer for Wonder Woman was unveiled at The Game Awards 2021. While we don’t get any actual gameplay of how the story will play out, we do get a decent look at Diana’s appearance in the game. Throughout the trailer, Diana’s mother, Queen Hippolyta, requests Diana to return home, thus establishing the setting for the game’s beginnings.

Wonder Woman and The Nemesis System
The Nemesis System was first introduced in 2014’s Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. The system allows enemies to evolve and develop based on your actions, therefore, influencing the game’s narrative in unique ways. In Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor, orcs would get promoted if they killed you, and they’d challenge each other to a fight to the death to reach higher ranks. While we are yet to see any gameplay, Vice President and Studio Head of Monolith Productions David Hewitt confirmed the inclusion of the Nemesis System in the game. However, it is unclear how this method will be applied in Wonder Woman, but it does add to the intrigue.
Gameplay-wise, we can imagine some grappling hook-style abilities that make use of her lasso, and some intense-melee attacks. Conclusively, there is no release date set for the wonder woman game. All we know is that it’s currently in development and might take a while for its official release date. Furthermore, no official platforms for Wonder Woman have been announced. However, based on Monolith’s previous works, it’s safe to believe the game will be released on at least the Xbox series, PC, and PlayStation.
