Phasmophobia’s Nell’s Diner Map Drops November 11: The Retro Haunt That’s Changing Everything

Phasmophobia’s Nell’s Diner Map Drops November 11: The Retro Haunt That’s Changing Everything

October 21, 2025 Off By Ibraheem Adeola

Phasmophobia is taking players somewhere new, and it’s not another abandoned asylum. Mark your calendars for November 11. That’s when the game’s fourteenth map, Nell’s Diner, officially opens its doors for ghost hunters everywhere.

Announced at the fifth anniversary panel during TwitchCon, this retro diner isn’t just another backdrop for hunting spirits. The developers at Kinetic Games are calling Nell’s Diner “an example of how we want all maps to feel going forward.” So, if you like your hauntings with a side of fries and a serious atmospheric upgrade, you’re in for a treat.

The Diner That’s Redefining Phasmophobia

The devs have been paying attention. Smaller maps in Phasmophobia are fan favourites, offering short but intense sessions that stick with you. Nell’s Diner is built from the ground up with that experience in mind. Size-wise, it’s a bit bigger than Tanglewood Drive, but still compact enough to keep the gameplay tight and nerve-racking.

Expect the classics, there’s a long food counter, those unmistakable red leather stools and booths, plus a kitchen, storage rooms, and (of course) plenty of spaces where things go bump in the night. Kinetic Games promises “plenty of hauntings to decipher” inside this uniquely American setting, so you and your friends won’t be short on scares.

What’s different? According to director Dan “Dknighter” Knight, “Nell’s is an example of how we want all the maps in Phasmophobia to feel going forward. It’s unique and has been meticulously designed to tell more of a story to our players, beyond the immediate ghost they’re hunting.” The team’s grown over the last five years and now creates all their own art assets, meaning the diner is packed with environmental storytelling you won’t see anywhere else. If you’ve craved more lore with your ghosts, Nell’s delivers.

Behind the Scenes: How Nell’s Fits Into the Bigger Picture

Nell’s Diner isn’t just a nostalgic new map. It’s also a signal: future content is going all-in on story-driven environments. This year saw reworks for the farmhouse maps, and with Nell’s, the team is leaning even harder into every detail. As Kinetic Games puts it, “We always thought a diner would fit perfectly, so Nell’s was born, and it’s been such a fun challenge bringing it to life.”

And that’s not the only thing brewing for fans. During the same anniversary celebration, creator Knight chatted about how The Witcher 3 inadvertently kept Phasmophobia alive and thriving in its early days. Plus, he teased a recently announced film and hinted at a major game overhaul landing next year. Knight promises the changes will be so sweeping, it will feel “like playing a new game” for veterans and newcomers alike.

For now, though, the spotlight’s on Nell’s Diner. The countdown’s on. November 11 isn’t far away, and when those neon lights flicker on, you’ll get to experience first-hand what the future of Phasmophobia looks and feels like. It’s not just another place to chase ghosts. It’s a taste of what’s coming, served up old-school, with a healthy portion of fear.
