Why Should Gamers Be Excited About Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Gameplay?
The gameplay is what makes any video game great, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage is no different. You’ll be able to enjoy familiar parkour mechanics which the series is known for, letting you explore urban landscapes with amazing freedom and fluidity. It’s sure to be an innovative experience!
Assassin’s Creed Mirage was initially planned to be a DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, so it’s quite a bit smaller and more linear than the last three games, which were massive open-world RPGs. Executive producer Marc-Alexis Cote, in an interview with IGN, stated the game should take between 15 and 20 hours to get through:
“Not everything has to be a 150-hour RPG, right … It is a smaller Assassin’s Creed project. This was conceived [and] built to celebrate the 15th anniversary. So that’s why we’re using our modern Valhalla engine to build a smaller game that pays tribute to our original game by focusing more on stealth, close-quarter combat, parkour, and a denser city that goes back to our roots in the Middle East with Baghdad as the centerpiece.”
Marc-Alexis Cote
Baghdad is going to be split into four districts, plus a smaller area on the outside called The Alamut, which is the Assassin’s headquarters. The game’s taking a more classic approach to gameplay, so stealth and parkour are getting a lot of attention. With the new engine from Valhalla, these systems have been improved from before. You get to decide the order in which you take out your targets, and you can stalk them by bribing guards, confronting them directly, or just sneaking around.
In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you won’t get to pick between genders or make dialogue choices. However, Eagle Vision and controlling an eagle to scout areas used in Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will return. You’ll still have your hidden blade, plus some additional weapons like smoke bombs and throwing knives. A new feature is Assassin’s Focus, which lets you take down multiple targets in one go. You can also ride camels and use parkour moves like climbing, leaping and swinging, plus a special Pole Vault move to cross bigger gaps.
